PaveQuote ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the PaveQuote mobile application and related services (the "Service").

By using PaveQuote, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Full name
• Email address
• Password (stored securely as a hashed value)
• Phone number (optional)
• Address (optional)
• Profile image (optional)

1.2 Google Sign-In

If you sign in using Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We store your Google account ID to link your account. We do not access your Google contacts, calendar, or any other Google services.

1.3 Business Information

If you add business details, we collect:

• Company name
• VAT number
• Business address
• Bank details (bank name, IBAN, BIC/SWIFT)
• Company stamp and digital signature images

1.4 Client Information

You may store client details including name, email, phone, address, and eircode. This data is entered by you and stored solely for the purpose of generating quotes and invoices.

1.5 Quotes and Invoices

We store quotes and invoices you create, including job summaries, line items, pricing, and any associated PDF documents.

1.6 Receipts

When you scan a receipt, we store the uploaded image and the extracted data (supplier, amount, VAT, date, category, and line items). Receipt images are processed using AI to extract information automatically.

1.7 Usage Data

We may collect basic usage data such as app interactions and error logs to improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Generate quotes, invoices, and VAT reports
• Process and extract data from receipt images using AI
• Send emails on your behalf (quotes, invoices, OTP verification)
• Provide AI-powered quoting assistance through our chat feature
• Generate visualisation designs for paving and landscaping projects
• Enable accountant access to your receipt data when you invite them
• Improve and maintain the Service

3. AI and Data Processing

PaveQuote uses third-party AI services (Google Gemini) to:

• Power the quote generation chat assistant
• Extract data from receipt images
• Generate paving/landscaping visualisation images

When using these features, relevant data (such as chat messages or receipt images) is sent to Google's AI services for processing. We do not use your data to train AI models. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for information on how they handle data.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Your data is stored on secure servers
• Passwords are hashed using industry-standard bcrypt encryption
• All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS encryption
• Uploaded images (receipts, profile pictures, visualisations) are stored in secure cloud storage
• We implement access controls to prevent unauthorised access to your data

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your data only in the following circumstances:

• Email delivery: We use SendGrid to send emails (verification codes, quotes, invoices, accountant invitations) on your behalf
• AI processing: As described in Section 3, certain data is processed by Google's AI services
• Accountant access: If you invite an accountant, they will be able to access your receipt and expense data
• Quote/invoice recipients: When you send a quote or invoice, the recipient receives the PDF and relevant details via email
• Legal obligations: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (profile, clients, quotes, invoices, receipts, and uploaded images) will be permanently deleted.

7. Your Rights

Under GDPR and applicable Irish/EU data protection laws, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Export your data (e.g., via PDF reports)
• Withdraw consent at any time by discontinuing use of the Service
• Lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission

8. Cookies

The PaveQuote mobile app does not use cookies. Our API uses JWT (JSON Web Tokens) for authentication, which are stored locally on your device and sent with each request.

9. Children's Privacy

PaveQuote is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the updated policy within the app or via email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
